While the Pokemon Company brought back all their long-lost mythical for their 20th Anniversary, most of them have become unobtainable again. Sadly, mythical Pokemon have no practical purpose besides filling up a living dex. Even when Wi-Fi events became standard, you still had to pick up an access code from a local Gamestop. Only the most dedicated fans were able to get incredibly rare Pokemon that haunted your Pokedex. Pokemon distribution events used to require a trip to GameStop, Toys R Us, or even across the country. However, if you want a more authentic mythical, you'll have to be resourceful. There are distribution cartridges that can restore long-lost events and hacks to add them into your game. Mythical Pokemon are the most sought-after for fans and completionists because they're incredibly rare and hard to find legitimately.
